TWENTY PERENNIALS TO GROW BEFORE YOU DIE
Larry Hodgson is one of Canada’s best-known garden communicators: editor, and contributor for many magazines, radio garden commentator and author of numerous well known garden books, both in French and English. He also leads many garden tours throughout Canada and the gardens of over 30 countries. With this lecture Larry wants us to discover 20 perennials that every gardener really should be growing, plants so exceptional that you can’t afford to be without them. Always an entertaining and fun speaker, this is an event to take in!

LAVENDER OUTSIDE OF THE MEDITERRANEAN
Alison Marks, co-owner of Joie de Lavande lavender farm in Knowlton with her husband Christopher, talks about growing “LAVENDER OUTSIDE OF THE MEDITERRANEAN”! Alison, who recently retired from the corporate world in various marketing/managerial positions, is now using her entrepreneurial skills in managing their farm which has turned into a local popular tourist destination. With its picturesque pond, and 1000 lavender plants, including an interpretive garden and sunny lavender scented terrace in a lavender and white colour scheme, it is no wonder that this property is lending itself well as a wedding and special events venue. Alison, also part of the floral partnership Fleurissima, and well known as the flower lady at the Knowlton Farmer’s Market, will take us through the trials and tribulations of growing one of the world’s oldest herbs in our climate.

ROSES FOR THE QUEBEC CLIMATE
André Poliquin is a well-known biologist and horticulturalist and popular Quebec horticultural speaker. Some of his specialties are orchids, clematis and roses. With this lecture and photo presentation he will take us through the history of roses, growing tips, helpful pruning information, disease prevention, winter protection, and the best roses for our area.

LIVING THE DREAM
Sue, a local gardener, club member and flower enthusiast will speak about her garden/work experience in the UK on a beautiful country estate, Hillersdon House located in Devon. She was able to fulfill one of her dreams by spending six weeks working and gardening on this lovely bucolic property. Accompanied by photos of this project, Sue will talk about her involvement in meeting the various gardeners and estate managers, all the while working alongside them during the complete garden renovation.
